Dream of Innocence by Flingling Dream of Innocence by Flingling
This was made with watercolor and white gouache (as usual). I used a photo taken by Lindsay Archer [link] as a reference.

this reminds me a little of the Last Unicorn. I think it's the way her hair is drawn. :3

I just love how the red, black and white contrast against the otherwise greayish pastel colors of the rest of the picture. It makes the subject appear as the centre of attention, which I assume is a desired effect. No matter what, it made me fall in love with the picture! ^^*

My favourite thing about the contrasts is the fact that the white lilies of innocence contrast the most against the black dress. It is a nice visual effect, together with the symbolic meaning is hides ^^*

I think I love this mostly for the rich, beautiful colors like in her hair and the tree. The watercolors are bold and strong, not wishy washy like a lot of people use them. Overall the entire image has me deeply enchanted :) Gorgeous work!

I think you have created an exceptional work here. If you go to Renaissance and Fantasy Faires as much as I do, you would realize that the women there look more like your perception than delicate little Tinker Belles. And they are good to be with!

You know quite possibly one of the things I like best about this peice is that she's not some whisp of a girl. It's becoming increasinly rare to find none "modern" idealized woman in fatnasy art these day, so I love the look of her face.

Artwise, it's just stunning. Amazing palette. The red of her hair works wonderfully here a both a focu and a way to lead the eye through the painting. The white highlights work equally well, which can be a tricky balancing act. is ee white sprkle highlights over done in a distracting way, a lot (and i do it myslf sometimes!)

amazing detail work. I admire people who can use water colors. They are (in my opinion) the second hardest paint to work with. So, kudos to you

Her expression and the positioning of her hand make this painting not innocent at all. Was that intentional, or is that just a byproduct of my mind perpetually residing in the gutter?

Either way, its beautiful as always.

hehe de e så läckert att man först inte riktigt ser draken där i bakgrunden, den smälter in så bra men sen ser man den o man undrar om hon busar me den eller om de ens vet om varandras närvaro...
:) helt klart läcker bild!
