it's a pity that you make magazine illustrations, with all the shiny happy people that tell nothing to me, when you have such talent for fantasy painting... makes me think you're wasting your skill. but well, maybe i'm not one to comment on that...
I concider myself fortunate to be able to make my living on art. I am, however, not an artist but an illustrator, and as such I cannot choose the temes of my illustrations.
The fantasy painting will have to remain a hobby for the time being.
Fantasy IS more fun though!
It's like writing a sonnet. You take a well-defined format or theme and turn your creativity loose.
Beautifully done. You capture the delight of the happy couple and the pain of being the one left out.
And it's not necissarily that "she got my guy". I could as easily be that her best friend suddenly has someone else who is first in her life. You want to be happy for her, but it still hurts to let go.
